An online teaching operation has to do more than host videos. It means organizing long courses, splitting content into modules and lessons, controlling who gets access and making it easy for students to pick up where they left off.

The main challenge was turning that academic structure into a clear interface, able to hold different content formats without muddling navigation.

The platform also had to serve complementary resources: materials, audio, schedules, contracts, certificates and support channels.

We built an authenticated web platform, structured around the student's actual journey.

Once signed in, users find their courses in one central area. Each course has its own page, with general information, completion percentage and content organized into modules.

Inside the modules, students can open video or audio lessons, complementary materials and files published by the institution. Moving between content takes fewer steps, so studying stays uninterrupted.

Access happens through an interface exclusive to students, with email and password authentication.

We also implemented an account recovery flow, letting users request a password reset without needing someone to step in manually to start the process.

Separating the public website from the authenticated area keeps each environment focused on its purpose: acquisition and institutional presentation on the site, studying and academic tracking on the learning platform.

The platform supports video and audio lessons, integrated with specialized streaming services. It also shows the lesson title, the instructor and controls to move forward or back through the content.

When enabled, students can mark a lesson as completed. That feeds the progress shown on the course and keeps a clear reference point in their journey.

The interface also lets students start a contextual conversation with the instructor over WhatsApp, carrying into the chat which course and lesson the question came from.

Beyond lessons, the platform serves complementary files tied to each piece of content.

Certificates can be generated as PDFs straight from the interface whenever the feature is available for that course.

Each course can display its completion percentage and how many modules are finished. On content pages, lesson status lets students see what they've already done and find the next place to study.

That tracking turns the platform into a tool for continuity, not just a video repository.

The application was built with Next.js and Node.js, on an architecture of reusable components.

The interface uses a responsive structure, adapting how menus, cards, modules and content are laid out across different screen sizes.
